COST

Initial Assessment = $300 (Medicare Rebate = $137.05)

Mental Health Consultation = $220  (Medicare Rebate = $137.05)

Pregnancy Support Counselling = $220  (Medicare Rebate = $68.45)

Fees are based on similar gap payments for other allied health providers. It covers consultation time, as well as preparation time and any follow up work that may be needed. If you have reached your Medicare Safety Net the gap payment will often be reduced. Payment is due on the day of your appointment, Medicare Rebates are there submitted on your behalf.


PREGNANCY SUPPORT COUNSELLING

Any woman who is currently pregnant or has been pregnant in the last year is eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for up to THREE sessions with an approved Psychologist. All that is required is a letter from your GP.


MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN

Additionally, if your GP believes you are eligible for a mental health care plan you can access a Medicare rebate for up to TEN consultations per calendar year. A mental health care plan and a referral letter will be needed to make this claim.


PRIVATE HEALTH

You may also be able to make a claim for psychological services through your private health insurance. Please check the details of your policy with your provider. Please note; you are not able to make a claim with private health insurance if you have already received a Medicare rebate for any one consultation.
